This picture originated as a pen and ink drawing that was scanned into the computer. It was then colorfully painted using a computer graphics software package. I did this at first only to test which colors I wanted to use to actually paint the picture using physical paints, but I later realized that the digital image could stand as a piece of art on its own as well.
